Ridley takes (cough, sneeze) AZ state masters

I raced the Arizona State Masters race Sunday, December 9 with aspirations of a good warm up for the open race. Earlier in the week I got sick (for the first time in about a year) and was still sick at the start of the race. The field was small, and I figured I'd hang, not push at all, and look for the right time to pounce for a win. The course was wet (imagine that, here) with REALLY thick grass on parts, and a mushy dirt path on the upside. There was a single run-up with 2 barriers, and a double barrier set on the faster dirt section.

Finally we've seen every condition, our series kicked off with muddy races, we had dry fast conditions in the middle and now full-on snow and slush conditions.

This weekend Offered up low temps but no adverse weather, the Venue was
Wheeler Farm, for the third time this season. No one could ever
complain about Wheeler, it has everything and makes for fast racing
with courses that just don't allow you to ease up on the legs.

Ridley Indiana: Report from the Ohio State Championships.

First, my name is Don Galligher Team Leader for Indiana, and I will be authoring all Indiana reports. Since this is my first post I wanted to introduce myself and the team. There are 3 of us: Myself, Ryan Knapp, and Andy Messer. This week we traveled south to the Ohio Valley race # 8, which also doubled as the Ohio State championships. This was my first race on the new Supercross, as I received it Tuesday, assembled it w/ a campy centaur groupo, set up and fiddled with the position, and proceeded to take it on a shake down ride on Saturday.

this weekend Ridley Utah Region set our site on Idaho. With no UCS race to contest we decided instead of spending time with loved ones or doing yard work we would just stretch our leg in a neighboring state.

Racing amongst the thorns, thistles, goatheads, and other sharp objects

Racing 'cross in the desert. I'm beginning to believe you need to really have a love for the sport to flourish here. The courses are dry, usually rocky, lots of dry sand, glass, and enough sharp objects to make even the Slime company quiver. But, here we are. Tucson held a race Sunday, November 11. It was an open class race, 50 minutes. It turned into an exercise in survival with every competitor, to my knowledge, having at minimum 1 flat. Evan suffered a flat, bike change with bad gearing, and a rolled tire (who glued that thing anyway??).

Ridley Texas Cross Season Heats Up!

Robert Biard B race Wurstcross

After a two week break from the first cross weekend in Dallas the regional series came to the Austin/San Antonio area. Specifically WurstCross in New Braunfels and the Cyclocross Scuffle in Round Rock. Both saw beautifully sunny calm days with temperatures that got up to around 80 degrees. But that was about all that was in common. WurstCross on Saturday was a somewhat technical course with a rock wall to manage, a tough loose gravel section along a riverbed and some wide open sections on hard pack earth.

Chainbiter 9.0 and Cycle-Smart International

Farmington(Chainbiter 9.0) was not at all the race that I was hoping it would be. There was supposedly a hurricane coming through the area but the venue only got a few sprinkles and did not turn into a quagmire as I was hoping but was still more slippery than anything yet this year. However, it is still one of my favorite courses, dry or wet, and suits me very well. I managed to sneak up to the front row for the start so was in very good position into the first lap until the rider infornt of me bobbled in one of the sand pits .

Wheeler Farms has played host to States for the past five years and for good reason, fast dirt roads, single track sections, off camber grass, paved path ways and marbley gravel corners. This weekend the temps were high the course was fast and unfortunately the thorns were plentiful.
